ChemBridge EXPRESS-Pick™ Compound Collection Standard Terms
For EXPRESS-Pick™, DIVERSet™, CNS-Set™, MicroFormats™, KINASet, ION Channel, Fragment Library, and MW Set Programs
1. Legal Terms
ChemBridge Corporation provides compound samples on a non-exclusive basis and retains no proprietary rights on compounds purchased by the client. The client will own purchased compound samples and will be free to use them, as well as any idea, invention, improvement, or discovery related to these compounds made by the client in any manner without royalties or any further obligations to ChemBridge Corporation. The client shall indemnify and hold harmless ChemBridge Corporation against any claim resulting from the client’s use of compound samples. ChemBridge Corporation makes no representation or warranty to the clients, expressed or implied, in regards to the purchased compound samples, including without limitation any warranty of non-infringement, safety, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
2. Quality Control Terms
100% of compounds within our EXPRESS-Pick Collection have been subjected to NMR or LC-MS (ELSD Detector) quality control to confirm identity and minimum purity of 90%. Spectra interpretation and final approval of each compound are executed by a dedicated group of Ph.D. analytical chemists, and only compounds having confirmed identity and meeting minimum purity requirements are retained. Electronic copies of original NMR or LC-MS spectra for all compounds shipped are available upon request. In addition to analytical QC, ChemBridge’s Quality Assurance System includes a state-of-the-art, proprietary sample tracking technology capable of assuring mistake-proof formatting of hundreds of thousands of compounds in any type of vials and 96-well or 384-well plates.
3. Format & Packaging Terms
ChemBridge offers a range of standard vial and plate formats for dry powder or DMSO formatted compounds. In addition to our standard options, ChemBridge can accommodate a client’s custom vials, plates, labels/barcodes, and plating (including multi-set and vial/plate sets) and delivery formats. Please contact ChemBridge for information on any costs associated with custom options.
Compounds are weighed in their original physical form on computerized analytical balances by dedicated, full-time operators. Zebra bar-coding technology is integrated with ChemBridge proprietary sample tracking technology, developed by the ChemBridge cheminformatics department, to assure virtual elimination of human errors at every step of compound handling and packaging.
Standard Vials and Caps: Compounds are provided in 3.7 ml (1 dram) Fisherbrand Class B amber glass threaded vials (Fisher Scientific catalog # 03-339-23B). Solid compound samples are provided with black, rubber lined plastic screw caps. Liquid compound samples (representing < 5% of any compounds in the entire collection) are provided in white, Teflon-lined screw caps for extra protection and easy visual identification.
Vial Barcodes: Each vial is labeled with a vertically oriented Zebra 1.00” x 0.50” label. The label provides a vertically oriented barcode (code 93; chemical and freeze/thaw resistant) and human readable ChemBridge ID number to assure compatibility with both robotics and manual modes of registration. In addition, the client/order code and weight of the compound are also indicated on the label.
Vial Packaging Boxes: Vials are packaged in specially designed white carton boxes with internal dividers and closure, to provide full protection of vials during transportation and storage. As a standard, we use a 300 vial box with a 15 x 20 matrix or a 96 vial box with an 8 x 12 matrix.
Custom Vial Formats: Client custom vials can be accommodated for a nominal extra charge.
Standard Plate: ABgene 96-well microtube rack plates are used for 1 to 5 mg amounts of dry compound. The ABgene 96-well rack consists of 1.2 ml individual tubes formatted in 96-well plastic racks compatible with HTS robotics (ABgene catalog # T1000R; www.abgene.com). Each column of tubes is capped with an 8-cap strip (ABgene catalog # C1000-8) or with a cap mat, and the whole rack has a transparent top cover.
Plate Barcodes: ABgene microtube rack plates are labeled on the long side at the A1 end with a horizontally oriented Zebra synthetic label with horizontally oriented barcode and human readable plate number. Each individual tube is labeled with an ultra-thin Zebra synthetic label, containing a vertically oriented barcode and human readable ChemBridge ID number. All barcodes are code 93 and are chemical and freeze/thaw resistant. Custom client barcodes/labels can also be accommodated.
Dry Compound Plate Format:
As a standard, microtube rack plates are provided with 80 compounds per plate (columns 1 and 12 empty).
ChemBridge offers DMSO plating for EXPRESS-Pick Collection compounds. In addition, ChemBridge offers pre-plated DMSO selections from the EXPRESS-Pick Collection such as DIVERSet™, CNS-Set™, MicroFormats™, and MW Set.
Standard DMSO Plate Options

E. 384-well Corning 0.2 ml polypropylene monoblock, v-bottom plates (Corning catalog # 3347; www.Corning.com).
Plate Sealing: Aluminum heat-seals (REMP; www.remp.com) are used as standard closure for Corning and ABgene plates (please inquire about cap mat or cap strip options). Ritter 1.2 ml and 2.5 ml plates are sealed with a cap mat.
Plate Barcodes: Monoblock plates are labeled on the long side at the A1 end with a horizontally oriented Zebra synthetic label with horizontally oriented barcode and human readable plate number. All barcodes are code 93 and are chemical and freeze/thaw resistant.
A. 96-well plates contain 80 compounds per plate (columns 1 and 12 are DMSO only, no compound). Custom plate layouts can be accommodated; additional charges may apply.
B. 384-well plates contain 320 compounds per plate (columns 1, 2, 23 and 24 are DMSO only, no compound). Custom plate layouts can be accommodated; additional charges may apply.
Custom Plate Formats Client custom plates can be accommodated for a nominal additional charge.
DMSO Compound Shipments: All DMSO solutions are immediately frozen solid and shipped frozen in insulated cartons containing dry ice.
4. Electronic Documentation Support Terms
Each shipment is accompanied by a full set of documentation in electronic form, provided on a disc prepared for PC or Mac (subject to the client’s choice). Standard registration data includes:
- MDL SDfile (structure-data file) containing each chemical structure along with the followingfields: unique ChemBridge ID number, plate or box ID value, column location, row location, coordinates (column and row locations combined), MW value, amount of compound and additional descriptors
- ISIS/Base .db (database) file containing chemical structure data and the same non-structural fields as the SDfile
- Microsoft Excel spreadsheet that includes all non-structural fields of the SDfile
- ISIS/Base .lst (list) file providing a list of all ChemBridge ID’s in the shipment
Upon request, accompanying electronic documentation may be provided in MDL’s ISIS for Excel format. Client customization of SD/database fields can also be accommodated. NMR and/or LC-MS spectra/quality control data are included in .tiff format.
